We focus on creating a comprehensive and engaging learning environment that nurtures all areas of development, preparing children for kindergarten and beyond. We use the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to develop essential writing skills in our pre-kindergarten students. This curriculum is specifically designed to make learning to write engaging and developmentally appropriate for young children. Key features of this curriculum include:

Multi-sensory Approach: Handwriting Without Tears incorporates a variety of sensory experiences, such as building letters with wooden pieces, finger tracing, and writing on chalkboards, helping children internalize letter formation in a fun and interactive way.

Developmental Progression: The program introduces children to writing through a carefully structured progression, starting with capital letters, which are easier for young learners to form, and moving to lowercase letters once they’ve gained confidence.

Fine Motor Skill Development: Activities such as drawing shapes, lines, and practicing correct pencil grip are integral to the program, helping children improve the fine motor skills necessary for writing.

Engaging Learning Tools: Children use tools like "Mat Man," a character that helps them visualize body parts while learning to form letters, as well as music and songs to reinforce learning.

Preparation for Kindergarten: The curriculum focuses not only on handwriting but also on readiness for the structured writing expectations in kindergarten, ensuring that children are well-prepared for this important milestone.
Language and Literacy
Language and literacy are key components of our curriculum. Through interactive storytime, letter recognition, and phonics exercises, children develop early reading skills. We emphasize letter sounds and vocabulary building, helping them to communicate confidently and preparing them for a lifelong love of reading.
Math Skills
Our math curriculum introduces foundational concepts in a fun and engaging way. Children learn number recognition, counting, basic addition and subtraction, and explore patterns and sequencing. These early math activities help develop problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
Physical Development
Our program incorporates activities that help children build both gross and fine motor skills. Through structured play, outdoor activities, and guided exercises, children strengthen their coordination, balance, and agility. We believe that physical activity is vital not only for healthy bodies but also for cognitive and social growth.
Cultural Awareness and Community
Children are introduced to diverse cultures, traditions, and customs, helping them appreciate the world’s richness and differences. Through stories, music, celebrations, and hands-on activities, we encourage children to respect and embrace diversity, promoting inclusivity from an early age.

We also foster a strong connection to our local community by engaging with community helpers such as firefighters, police officers, and healthcare professionals. These visits and interactions help children understand their role within the community and develop a sense of belonging.
Practical Skills
We place a strong emphasis on teaching children essential practical life skills. These include buttoning, lacing, putting on coats, and organizing personal belongings. These tasks help build independence, fine motor skills, and confidence, preparing them for daily routines both at school and home.
Science Skills
We introduce basic science concepts through hands-on activities and explorative learning. Children engage with topics such as weather, plant life, and the natural world around them. Our in-house and off-site field trips, like visits to local farms and planetariums, help to further foster curiosity and understanding of the world.
Creative Arts
Through a variety of art activities such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and crafting, children have the opportunity to explore different materials and techniques. We also incorporate music, movement, and dramatic play into our daily routines. Children are encouraged to sing, dance, and act out stories, which helps improve their communication and collaboration skills.
Social and Emotional Development
We provide a nurturing environment where children can explore their emotions, build relationships, and develop essential social skills. Through group activities, cooperative play, and guided discussions, children learn to express their feelings, share with others, and resolve conflicts in positive ways.

We emphasize the importance of empathy and understanding by encouraging children to recognize and respect the emotions of their peers. Our educators model and reinforce positive behaviors, helping children build self-regulation skills and confidence in their interactions.
